Accounts & Audit Senior
Aspen Waite Wantage are looking to hire an Accounts & Audit Senior. We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) who enjoys some audit work. This role will involve joining a well-established team with a modern approach to accountancy. The position will be based in modern offices with a fantastic team. The ideal candidate will be the most senior accounts person in the Wantage office, reporting directly to the CEO. We are seeking an individual who is confident in their work a team player and able to manage its long-established clients.
The salary is around £50,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The working hours are full-time, Monday-Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- To prepare client accounts using CCH software supported by full working papers and supporting documentation, liaising with the clients as necessary.
- To undertake statutory audit work for clients.
- To draft corporation tax returns for a variety of clients.
- To provide input on some personal tax returns that are prepared by the Personal Tax Consultant.
- To prepare year end journals for the client’s accountancy system and input of journals to the client’s accountancy system.
- To prepare / review VAT calculations and VAT returns (flat rate, cash or accrual basis) which will involve liaising with clients in person, via email and by telephone.
- To produce management accounts within deadlines for clients.
- To conduct client meetings as required.
- To support and develop junior team members.
- To identify areas where the company can offer further value for their clients and refer to other areas of the business as appropriate.
Experience, attributes & skills sought:
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Successful applicants would have detailed knowledge, understanding and experience of practice - based accountancy.
- 1 year audit experience across all sections of the audit file.
- At least 1-3 years practice experience.
- Excellent team working and communication skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Good verbal and written communication.
